Flooded India, a waste of good energy source?

With India slowly being runaway by floods the Indian authorities are running to help those who are trapped in floods. Poor drainage, lack of dams, and blind eye towards monsoon destruction every year has led to death of more than 60 people this month.

Every year our country has a season called 'Monsoon' which brings hell alot of rain. It gives respite to many farmers and people suffering from drought and water shortage. But every year excess of rain leads to destruction of many areas but we have no solution at all. Uttarakhand being the most affected region.

I ask one thing why don't we look for alternatives and use the excess water as a alternative energy source. We need more dams in the hilly regions with more capacity, but then environmentalists will stand up against it. We need to be practical, Surely dams will wipe out forests and species but we are looking to save scores of human lifes.

Water is unconventional source of energy, but the amount available in our country every year makes it more or less conventional. This amount of flooding if used in a useful manner can be used to produce good amount of electricity.

Rajesh in the Indian Cricket Team?

For a moment i thought Rajesh has been selected for the India cricket team.  but wait....

One year complete? :O

Hey hey Bloggon,
What up peeps?

Firstly, congrats to Rafael nadal for grabbing yet another French open title. [Djokovic nahi jeeta :D]

And finally my second semester exams are over YOHOO~@$!. The only thing left is physics external practical tomorrow that won’t be that tough. The first year was like a roller coaster ride for me. I just thank god who gave me strength in long stretches of light cuts, mosquitoes, -1 degree Celsius temperature and burning heat. I still don’t believe my one year has been completed successfully.

Its not all about temperature.

 Its also about >Studies<.....

if you think first year of engineering is a cake walk…well…ITS NOT!. Uhm…its even worser than the temperature itself. But..i managed through…

I have lost like 2Kgs..in the present second semester. And if you think 2kgs is nothing , then its everything for me..those who know me physically know what I am saying. Now ‘’I get 2 reactions on my bottom whenever I sit down.’’ [mechanics interpretation of weight loss]

There is a lot of competition and mindful people in India. But I don’t understand one thing, how come we are still lagging behind. We don’t invent anything new..except the only thing I heared was that some IITians invented a “anti -rape jacket”, is that what we are studying for? Japan and China are miles ahead or I should say centuries ahead. We are still the ‘’same old nation’’. The only difference being ‘’same old nation with 50 lakh engineers.’’ I do acknowledge the growth in biotechnology sector. But in engineering apart from TATA, HCL, INFOSYS, I hear nothing. Even if you name a few more that doesn’t matter. With the size of India we should have like 50 IT parks and 100 industrial zones to cope with unemployment.

But India is still busy in making quantity count rather than quality. Poor education system and lack of funds reaching to the needy people is what makes it so. Misuse of resources is another factor. I also do not like how Indian government functions. It has so many loop holes. If the scam doesn’t occur at central level, it may occur at state level. No scam at state level? alright we have officials waiting at district level. No scam are district level? Well that’s surprising….but wait! we have city officials too..and the common people just keep waiting and waiting and waiting.

I think its high time to rethink where we are heading. Its time that we rethink our strategies and look for alternatives.

Desi Kanjar!

Gear up guys.. Another post.

This kanjar who commented “chal nikal” on my last post is defiantly that SHARK I was talking about. =D Shark u need to grow a bigger ‘FIN’ lol.

I’ve been much Desi recently; I mean I’m always Desi but recently on a higher scale lol. Me and my best college mates sit in the canteen and shout out “Oye zalillll” and yeah almost everyone turns back =D and sometimes the professors staring and that’s when I think these kahjars! I wanna squirt neembu in their eyes.

There is this fringee friend of mine, he’s like what and who is this “DesiAuntiji”
Haha well I don’t think you people would be much familiar with her, she is amazing! I mean for like bloody real!
Ill be introducing her to you people bit by bit and I’m sure you people will love her, She is hilarious.

Recently DesiAuntyji was like “ Mehndi taa’n sajdi je nachay munday di maa” saalo ye mehndi hai ya dance bar? Lol
“pyar kiya toh darna kya!” Kanjari you wouldn’t be saying this if your parents were desi.
DesiAuntiji talks like this always.. once she was like “doctor asked the banana what is wrong? Banana Kehnda im not peeling too well”
Angreezi desi style de naal.
Its like the door of insult opens when she wakes up.  A kudi on tv was like “im sooo hot daaayyuumm” Aunty goes “chal oye kaali kanjri, tujhay shaayad koyla kha ke paida kiya hai” and yeah never disturb Aunti ji while watching cricket, this idiot was like mein kaisa lag raha hoo she was like CHAKKAAA!!
These days teenagers are always “sun raha hai naa tu.. Ro raha hu main..” Aunti replies “manhoos, ronda hee ravien chavi ghantey kanjar  le doodh phaad”
So Manhoos log keep your distance please ;)  warna haramkhooro tujhay aatay ki tarah goondh dengi.

Just a brief description of auntiji ill get back with Auntiji again lol
See you all again soon.

RE-LAUNCH

Well well… look who just jumped in..  I finally decided to check our blog after years of hibernation.

Things have pretty changed here but what’s not changed is some idiots coming frequently to post here but not bothering to reconnect back to their old mates.

I missed you guys L there is this SHARK around here and frankly I want to kill it! fry it and guess what? I wont eat it! Ill throw it away! It’s not even worth looking at! YES I’m talking about Shariq! ‘He just forgot that I even EXIST!’ never expected this, Anyway its not worth it.

So.. I was with a few friends today chilling in hot, humid conditions that’s a bad combination btw :P walking on the cornice talking and jumping from topic to topic.  We ran across a topic of ‘blogs’ and that’s when I realized Lecture hall I shall check and so I’m here.

I don’t have much to write at the moment, but yeah surely ill come up with a few topics soon.

Sorry for being away for long L

SHARIQ please don’t comment! You and me are katti!

Bunch of creeps organising cricket of india BCOCI

Well i have got my second semester exams tommorow. So pray for me..

Apart from all this i keep hearing about match fixing going on and some players getting caught. I don't understand what the 'hulla bulla' is all about? This was going on for ages just under the nose of the BCCI and the BCCI themselves turned a blind eye towards it.

Match fixing has no solution...thats what the BCCI says it. You know what i say..shut the BCCI, thats the solution to match fixing.

I dont get it..is there a single government organisation in India that is not involved is some kind of scam, scandal, or some sort of mischief ?

I have one thing to say about match fixing..''Retire before you are caught''. And that's the thought that came to my mind when i decided to write this post.

I'll get back to maths..time for one last revision..and then sleep..yawn..zzz

You know who.

Be Bant Da Cup

Hello Folks!
Seems like everyone's busy with there works, studies and so on, So am I. I don't do any of these but I still don't get time from playing cricket, parties and so.

Just Came from a wedding party and it wasn't the best one. First of all, how am I suppose to do bhangra on Gidha or a romantic song???? Secondly, there was no pepsi at all!!!! My Turban was good though, and just in case someone didn't liked it, it was a new one...:P. I don't tie it all the time, but when I do, I feel proud if it. Also, I just like it how people react when they see me after a long time.

Well that was about the party, talking about cricket now. I have got off to a great start here in Canada, Hasn't been the best of the starts for the team as we have had 4 games and 2 of them have already been washed out having won the other 2 comfortably.

The last game was  a great one for me as I got useful hands in all the departments. The best part of it was the bowling where I took 3 wickets in 7 overs, all of them coming in 6 balls and all of them were bowled, what was even more amazing was that all 3 of them pitched on middle and leg and went on to hit the top of off stump. I still have the picture in my mind, it was a great feeling. Also, took a splendid catch while fielding at the second slip. It was a leading edge of a spinner's bowl which was travelling very low to my left.

So far, we look like the team to beat in our division and hopefully we will win this division. Lehgo Lions!!!!

You can check the rest of the stats of this link: http://www.bcmcl.org/index.jsp?form=matchrev&r=matchrev&game_number=104&season_id=2013REG

Meanwhile, Mom, Dad and brother are back, which means that I can enjoy more on the field without caring about my clothes and injuries. Hoorayyyyy!

Tata!

Another Great Week

What's up folks!
Gurpreet Bin Khalifah reporting walahi! lol. Ever since I started my cricket practice here in Canada, I have hardly managed 5 wickets in 3 practise sessions, I'm much slower than how I use to ball back in days, but I've had 5 different names over the last 2 weeks. Starting with Gill saab to Dubai Express, Sheikh, Al Khalifah and Gurpreet Bin khalifah, just a correction of Al Khalifah.

Most of it actually started when I told my teammates about some Dubai facts last weekend, it took me one complete medium size pizza(as we were siting at a pizza place) and half n hour extra to explain them about U.A.E, Burj khalifah, Burj al arab and a couple more places. The best part of it was when I told them that Dubai Isn't a country, They were all shocked for a while.

Meanwhile, I'm still loving the couple of places I went last week. Starting with Victoria, The capital of B.C. I didn't really love the place but the drive from Nanaimo and the ferry was the best.Driving with 3 drunk people was always going to be funny, and when you have vegetarian burger in breakfast with lots of non-vegetarian jokes it's just like extra toppings on pizza. There was this uncle with us who was actually 65+ but looked very young from his knowledge and his jokes...

The funniest part was him explaining the difference between methanol and ethanol after having 3 pegs and then saying that he won't have more, but he still had 4 more pegs after that. There was another guy with us, a very famous guy in BC. The so called "Tandi mangta", Priyanka might know her. It's same guy who calls on every talk show on every radio channel and talks all the rubbish until his call is eventually put down. I didn't knew that it was him and he never looked like the whole time as he was so quiet, until my cousin told once we dropped him. But I should say that he is a hardcore cricket fan. OMG! throughout the whole time that guy was just asking me about some of the cricket shots. I was teaching him the straight drives and the cover drives even in the restaurants.

Also, saw a couple of killer whales on the way back from there,But they were not looking deadly at all!WTH! They were looking like a newly married couple having romance. I don't know who named it killer whale.

The other place I went to was "White rock" and it's a very beautiful place too! The drive on the beach side was amazing, specially with a twin turbo sports car with dual sub woofers and lots of girls on the street...;)

Meanwhile, the biggest news coming forward is that some 12 people from 2 German football clubs are accused of raping Barcelona and Real Madrid. They are Lewandowski from Borussia Dortmund and the whole of Bayern Munich playing 11. Well, for all those who missed it, It was nothing less than a rape for 2 of the biggest and strongest clubs in the world. losing 4-0 and 4-1 within 24 hours. Hiter's army is back! That's the reason why I support Germans!!!...:P

Bin Khalifa signing off!
Time to buy some buildings... Hmmm

The Unexpected Journey

Hello Folks!
There I was all packed up, all set to leave for the airport, heading back to Surrey when suddenly a friend of mine turned on my laptop despite me yelling at him for doing so. The first thing I saw was a call on Skype, it was cousin from San Antonio. He straight away asked my passport details and my landing time in Seattle. The next thing I saw was my ticket from Seattle to San Antonio via Phoenix. I was shocked, Surprised and happy all at the same time.

There is always that pre planning and that stuff when you know you are going to a place you expect yourself to be at, But it's a completely different experience when you are not prepared, It's something amazing! So after travelling for than 24 hours changing 3 different flights, sleeping like a dead guy on my 3rd flight (only to be forced to wake up by the air hostess after requesting for 5 minutes or so), I finally reached San Antonio after midnight. That's when I came to know that I was there on my Niece's birthday party.

The party was pretty good, the pool wasn't as I lost very badly to almost all of them. But yes! every single dude in the party was taking tips from me about my turban, felt really good. Had an amazing time out with cousins, having party on one day, starving for food on the other and overeating on the next day just to be on the safe side. The kids were just lovely. I never met them before but still they were just around me all time for the days I stayed there.

Some of the places were really good, I mean I wasn't expecting Texas to be so good after all that I've heard about it, it was an unexpected journey with unexpected experiences. The food was good too! and more importantly it was different all the time.

I want to write more about it but I just feel very tired, will write about the complete experience some time later. Meanwhile, my poor luck with my electronics continues and I can proudly yet sadly tell another story about my device getting damaged unluckily. :(

Me and my this cousin were wearing shorts just to show off  because we were from a colder region, we ended up shivering like hell as it very cold and windy on that day...:P

Indian engineers...need more brains

Well just scrolling through the news archives i found a very astonishing piece of news. According to evaluation conducted by Nasscom an IT body only 50% of the total engineers were employable in india.

Its quite sad how India is focusses on quantity rather than quality. The education system of India needs a major change over. What I believe is that the problem lies in the language. We as Indian proudly sing the National Anthem on Independence day but we have left our liguistic instincts far behind. Whether we belong to any state, speaking any language than english..we are forced day after day to shallow the bitter 'tablet' called 'English'.

I ask..Why can't we study in our own language. And after all we can't use the excuse that we are exporting engineers..as according to this report 50% of the engineers can answer this question,  given below.

Q Did you _______ cereal for breakfast.
Only 50% of the students were able to give the correct answer – have. Wow?

Now what are we running after?..We proudly say that we are one of the largest producers of engineers and we can 'have' cereal for breakfast. How is that..

Now problem is not you..me or him. But the problem lies within us. We as a whole have rejected our language whether it be Hindi, Punjabi or Telugu....and Marathi also.

..This is something we should look forward. Lets make it optional for people to study in english. Lets make engineers for our satisfaction and not for show off. Lets change the India and stop caring for the world as we have to come back to our country one day...one day, and that day you will realise the importance of your language.

Take an example of China..you ask a person on the street, standing suited, booted, with a Rado watch on his wrist and a black laptop bag..''Hey, Whats the time?''..He replies..'' Chong wayang sing sing''. ''alright..but i am in no mood to sing''. Apart from this joke they have really brought up their country just by embracing their language.

I don't know about doctors till now..whether they can 'have' cereal or not. Maybe Mr. Ron Parker can elaborate.
