Aata Singh?

It was our first year and we somehow managed to get through the first semester. We had a new applied physics lecturer from Dehradun and we were not that happy. After all the time we got for canteen and roaming around the MAJU campus was now sabotaged by someone who will fill our minds with Schrodinger and many other related derivations. It was a big setback for our branch. In the starting we were told by him to write the attendence on a sheet and give him afterwards. We did so. But when the sheet came to me, i looked at my bench mates in a devilish manner and came up with an idea to write something most awkard. My friends told me to write something feminish. But i came up with a more moderate option..its was rather foolish.

I wrote Aata Singh [I am this random] on the sheet, leaving some spaces and changed the font[as i had the worst writing anyone could catch me]. Days passed, One day he entered the lecture hall, kept his attendence register on the podium and started the attendence with Aata Singh[Flour Singh], the room remained silent. He soon realized he was pranked. The Bench i was sitting on bursted out in laughter. We hid our faces and laughed hell as the room was silent it was pretty tough to control our laughter.

Not that funny but Aata singh was very awkard.

This Team Rox!

Honorably Engineered Indian Chief Ministers

You think they can just talk sweet? Some of them are even big geeks. Most of them being engineers..do we have Indian states in good hands?

Stay with me while i take you to a ride of list of honorably engineered present chief ministers of various states of India.

#1 Prithviraj Chauhan- Maharashtra

Well they don't say 'Jai Maharashtra' for nothing. This guy takes all the credit on my list for being most educated engineer and chief minister of any state in India.

He graduated in mechanical engineering from the Birla Institute of Technology and Science, Pilani and holds a Master of Science degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He has also written articles on computer science; engineering design; and also contribution to research in computerization.

#2 Manohar Parrikar- Goa

Go Goa. He is surely a landmark for IIT Bombay as he's the first IIT graduate to become chief minister of any state of India.  He studied at Loyola High School, Margao. He completed his secondary education in Marathi and went on to graduate in metallurgical engineering from IIT Bombay.
Normally, IITians don't really like to waste time on petty politics. They have their own set of politics to handle.

 #3 Akhilesh Yadav- Uttar Pradesh
One of my personal favourites, people say he does what his father says. Is this making him popular in many circles today? He studied at Dholpur Military School in Dholpur, Rajasthan and subsequently was awarded a degree in Environmental engineering while studying in Mysore. He went to Australia to study for a master's degree in the same subject.

#4 Nitish Kumar- Bihar

Chief minister of one of most unprivileged state, Bihar. No, its not Laloo. But he's also one of my favourites as he holds a degree of B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from NIT Bihar, earlier known as Bihar College of Engineering and Electrical engineering happens to be one of my most favourite discipline in engineering.

Indian Politicians..These two words really make u

Flooded India, a waste of good energy source?

With India slowly being runaway by floods the Indian authorities are running to help those who are trapped in floods. Poor drainage, lack of dams, and blind eye towards monsoon destruction every year has led to death of more than 60 people this month.

Every year our country has a season called 'Monsoon' which brings hell alot of rain. It gives respite to many farmers and people suffering from drought and water shortage. But every year excess of rain leads to destruction of many areas but we have no solution at all. Uttarakhand being the most affected region.

I ask one thing why don't we look for alternatives and use the excess water as a alternative energy source. We need more dams in the hilly regions with more capacity, but then environmentalists will stand up against it. We need to be practical, Surely dams will wipe out forests and species but we are looking to save scores of human lifes.

Water is unconventional source of energy, but the amount available in our country every year makes it more or less conventional. This amount of flooding if used in a useful manner can be used to produce good amount of electricity.

Rajesh in the Indian Cricket Team?

For a moment i thought Rajesh has been selected for the India cricket team.  but wait....

One year complete? :O

Hey hey Bloggon,
What up peeps?

Firstly, congrats to Rafael nadal for grabbing yet another French open title. [Djokovic nahi jeeta :D]

And finally my second semester exams are over YOHOO~@$!. The only thing left is physics external practical tomorrow that won’t be that tough. The first year was like a roller coaster ride for me. I just thank god who gave me strength in long stretches of light cuts, mosquitoes, -1 degree Celsius temperature and burning heat. I still don’t believe my one year has been completed successfully.

Its not all about temperature.

 Its also about >Studies<.....

if you think first year of engineering is a cake walk…well…ITS NOT!. Uhm…its even worser than the temperature itself. But..i managed through…

I have lost like 2Kgs..in the present second semester. And if you think 2kgs is nothing , then its everything for me..those who know me physically know what I am saying. Now ‘’I get 2 reactions on my bottom whenever I sit down.’’ [mechanics interpretation of weight loss]

There is a lot of competition and mindful people in India. But I don’t understand one thing, how come we are still lagging behind. We don’t invent anything new..except the only thing I heared was that some IITians invented a “anti -rape jacket”, is that what we are studying for? Japan and China are miles ahead or I should say centuries ahead. We are still the ‘’same old nation’’. The only difference being ‘’same old nation with 50 lakh engineers.’’ I do acknowledge the growth in biotechnology sector. But in engineering apart from TATA, HCL, INFOSYS, I hear nothing. Even if you name a few more that doesn’t matter. With the size of India we should have like 50 IT parks and 100 industrial zones to cope with unemployment.

But India is still busy in making quantity count rather than quality. Poor education system and lack of funds reaching to the needy people is what makes it so. Misuse of resources is another factor. I also do not like how Indian government functions. It has so many loop holes. If the scam doesn’t occur at central level, it may occur at state level. No scam at state level? alright we have officials waiting at district level. No scam are district level? Well that’s surprising….but wait! we have city officials too..and the common people just keep waiting and waiting and waiting.

I think its high time to rethink where we are heading. Its time that we rethink our strategies and look for alternatives.
