Routine Check I'm Alive!

It's Thursday! my turn! Well Everything looks kewl! Don't know about you but I'm shivering. Life's been super good ever since I started my university (Oye hoye kudiyan hi Kudiyan!...:P). Don't know why people still think of me being a new lad in the city. I roam around the streets like a boss ever since I got a car. My Own car! I like it! The only thing I hate about it is the insurance. Crap! The car cost me around 8K and the insurance was around half of it! I could have had two R15s in India with this amount, unlucky me. It's a 2005 "fully loaded" Honda Accord.

So almost since my first day here Surrey I've been driving crazy like taxi drivers, I just want someone to tell me to drive a car and I know almost every single corner around this place apart from my University..:P All I know in my university is the library(Our meeting spot at the uni.) and Tim Horton(Out eating spot in the uni.).

I'm doing almost nothing here but I still never make it home before 10pm almost every single day and even I can't figure out how and why and every morning dad wakes me up at around 7 just coz he has to watch cricket match on laptop and I'm the operator.

The best thing about this place is that when ever people see a rich guy going in a good car they are like "It's an Arab"and that drives me crazy, the only thing people know about Arabs is that they are super rich.
Guess what? The road in the picture is a trans Canada highway which runs almost throughout the country! They call it a "HWY", Apparently that looks smaller than a service road in Dubai! Poor people. Oh and I was driving at around 130+ on it and it was looking really Fast!

Had to wake up early in the morning to watch India Vs Australia and I've to go for a tennis match too. Finally I've started playing Tennis too! Probably it was the only sport left which I didn't get injured while playing...:P Trying to achieve that too...:D
Tata!

I am mast!

Hello, beautiful people!

It's been unbelievably long since I was vocal about my whereabouts. So I decided to pen down a few words and arrange a few sentences here there before I go back into hiding again :P

So, How have my pals been? I know Gurpreet is in Canada, boasting about the fact that he is from Dubai! Just kidding. And the last time I talked to Rajesh and Shariq, both of them were hale and hearty. And as for Amit and Yusuf, I hope they are doing fine as well!

If anyone of you were keeping track of time, you'll know that I'm not a fresher anymore! Yay! :D Man, it's an amazing feeling just to wake up and walk around the campus filled with new faces! I once literally heard a mumbling about how seniors are cool! Haha, made my day! Seeing these new faces around me makes me remember myself from a year back. I was silly, afraid(just a bit) and boy, I sure was interrogative! I used to ask so many questions! How's this? Why that and all! Good thing I survived, else I would have died with so many queries in my mind. Lol!

The other big thing happening around me is the annual festival, and everyone's burning the night oil (Used as a metaphor, don't be sarcastic. I know your double meanings very well, Gurpreet :P) just to make sure that things fall right where they should be. I'm doing my part as well. As a matter of fact, I'm going to compete this year. The last time I competed I  remember was with RJ, I guess CIF, right? Ah, old memories! I'm going to be presenting a paper on Nanotechnology. Exicted. Wish me luck.

So, this is pretty much it, my life in a nutshell.

Good bye!

Reporting from Canada

I'm kinda so excited to write this post that I've been planning it for the last week or so but that lazy part of me stops me from doing it when I think about writing 2-300 words out of nothing.

Well First of all my flight wasn't as bad as I was expecting it. It was very boring but I wasn't tired enough to feel like jumping off the plane or not to wake up for 2-3 days, probably because I was excited about the new place but for a moment  I was shocked when I landed and I saw the freakin 1990s airport with same model cars moving around the runway and all. I was like am I in Canada or in Somalia?

Talking about now, I'm having quite a great time here, got a lot of great new friends all thanks to Priyanka (Why my auto correct shows it paprika??)...:P and a few of them of my type as they can understand my double meaning talks. It was tough in the first week when I was totally messed up with locations and I was trying to change from my lifestyle in Dubai to a new lifestyle here in Canada (Especially adapting to the weather) But its all good now just apart from University.

The best thing about this place is that I feel like being in Developed Punjab. Almost half of the population is of Punjabis and I guess the second language is Punjabi too! Sounds surprising but it is! And the best thing is to watch old people sit in the park and play "Seep" (card game) in groups.

So all I've been doing here is trying few new things like playing tennis, trying to adapt to woody stuff (wooden houses, they are very noisy), to adapt to the accent and to drive a lot around the city and to drive slow(most difficult part). Oh and I go to University too! once a week and that too I've a class with Priyanka and Deepika  its the English (Hogayi padhayi) you can expect the rest with me being the way I was in TCS. Sunir lal was better than this teacher though. I miss him for the fights we use have.

Some of my friends have Bhangra in the University tomorrow and I'm not in it! but I'm still so excited about it. Excited to see them do it in pairs with "Female partner" and I'm like CRAP! I should have been here much more earlier..:D

Well I haven't been to many places around here so I can't differentiate much between this place and Dubai but to what I feel I think this place has a great weather apart from the fact that it rains around 9 months (Reminds me of a poem. remember?) a year and its much greener here, Apart from that I don't feel anything special about Canada and also when I tell people that I'm from Dubai and I tell them the facts about Dubai they are basically stunned for a moment or two and at first they can't believe it.

And yea I've found a few cricket clubs too and might contract with one of the clubs next season. Already excited about that.

Last but not the least I love Dubai!
